Atlanta Occasions Launch Party

Last night, I attended Atlanta Occasions launch party. A great group of not just wedding, but event professionals where there to celebrate the new luxe guide to planning wedding, corporate, and social events.

Heather Vreeland, Publisher & Editor-In-Chief, took a special moment to thank everyone for attending the party and showing her so much support in the process.

I loved the way the room was divided up with sheer at The Foundry at Puritan Mill. I haven't been back since I did a wedding there in September.

The extra long bar and of course the complimentary drinks were a big hit. I admit that I enjoyed my favorite......champagne of course.

The flowers and the illuminated tables were beautiful. As you can see by the empty glasses on table, a good time was had by all.

Happy Birthday ISES!

Last week I attended the Atlanta Chapter of ISES 20TH birthday celebration at Hotel Palomar. It was wonderful to see 19 of the 20 presidents in attendance. I have been a member long enough to see three of them in action.

We rolled out the delicious birthday cake and watched the first president and the current Atlanta chapter president blow out the candles to call an end to the awards, dinner, and dessert celebration downstairs. Then it was time to head up to the rooftop for the rest of the night.

I absolutely love the hotel's fire pits and cabanas!

Wedding Card Box

There are so many little details involved in planning your wedding day. But a very important detail to remember is your wedding card box. Here's why. A lot of your guest will buy you a wonderful wedding gift, but many will simply give you and your new husband a card with a monetary gift inside to help you start your new life.
So you have the choice of a traditional white satin covered box or a colorful tiered card box in your matching wedding colors. Toady's bride has the choice to kick it up a notch!

Ways to Cut Wedding Costs (Tip # 1)

Let me start by saying that your wedding planner can give you wonderful tips on how to save money on your wedding. That being said, I will share with you a great way to save a ton of money on your wedding. Cut down on your guest list!
Between your list of people you want to invite, your fiance's list, and both sets of parent's lists, before you know it your guest list is huge. What you can do is separate the guests into two lists. List A can be the people you absolutely have to invite. List B can be the list of people you want to invite if you can.
A great way to look at your guest list is to consider what inviting each person includes. For every person that you invite it means an invitation, a program, a meal, a few drinks, a slice of cake, a rented chair for the ceremony, a rented chair for the reception, and a guest favor at the very least. If you cut your guest list by 8-10 people, you just saved yourself a rented table, 8-10 rental chairs, rented linen for that table, a centerpiece, food and beverage for 8-10 people, invitations, programs, and favors for them!
Cutting your guest list may also allow you to rent a smaller less expensive reception room and cut down on the staff needed to be hired. So even though your mom may want you to invite your second cousin, if you have not seen or heard from them in several years, think about the cost vs. the savings of inviting them. Happy planning!

Bellini

A Bellini is an extremely popular drink in Italy. It is a delicious blend of champagne and peach. Although you can make this drink with only two ingredients, you have options. You can use champagne such as Veuve Clicquot or a sparkling wine such as Prosecco. For the peach side of the drink, you can use Peach Schnapps or pureed peach. Whatever version you select is up to you, but for the best results use: 1 part peach and 3 parts champagne in a chilled champagne flute.
