The Knot Georgia

The new Fall/Winter issue of The Knot Georgia magazine just hit stands last week. I was honored that Your Champagne Wishes Events was able to be a part of the popular publication. You can find me on page 46 in the Expert Advice Section. My feature is called Catching up with a Planner.

I was able to give brides tips on everything from making and keeping their budget, figuring out their wedding style, design details that are normally forgotten, to adding local flavor on their wedding day. Readers also got to see some colorful flower choices that I used in a bride's bouquet, centerpiece, and to decorate a cake that would be perfect accents to a fall or winter wedding celebration.

Wedding Cake Trends

I'll admit that when I first saw the naked wedding cake, I didn't like it. I thought, where is the butter cream...where is the fondant? Are they just going to leave it like that? LOL. However, I have changed my mind. Naked cakes are pretty cool. You get to see the perfectly shaped layers of cake and get to guess the filling flavors. I love the way this cake was beautifully adorned with flowers.

Unlike the naked cake, I fell in love with the marble cake the very first time that I saw one. Who can resist looking at the smooth texture and the swirls of color? It makes me want to cut a huge piece for myself.
If you love the look of traditional wedding cakes that's great. If you want something unique then the naked cake or the marble cake are two delicious options for you.

Brides Against Breast Cancer

I'm always excited when Brides Against Breast Cancer comes to town. They are a non-profit organization that travels from city to city with designer wedding gowns. For brides, it's a chance to find the perfect wedding dress, save up to 85%, and help those impacted by cancer.
I have volunteered the last few years when the tour came to Atlanta. This year I am super excited because I have been asked to be the city coordinator. Once again, I get to be a part of a unique and rewarding event.
The gown sale takes place April 6th and 7th. Brides, please visit www.bridesabc.org for more information and to register to attend. Happy shopping!

Something Blue

Brides will be delighted to know that there is a new romantic fragrance inspired by one of the most important days of their life, their wedding day. Something Blue is a flowery scent by famous fashion designer Oscar de la Renta. The beautiful bottle had a blue top and since rings are an important part of weddings, it comes with a removable ring engraved with the designer's signature logo that she can wear.
Something Blue can be purchased at www.oscardelarenta.com, Bloomingdales or Saks Fifth Avenue. This makes a bride's search for something old, something new, something burrowed, something blue a little easier.

Congratulations Tiffany & Aaron (Part 2)

My October bride told me what flowers she liked and here is the bouquet I designed for her. Hydrangeas, spray roses, and baby's breath look beautiful together. Visit Your Champagne Wishes Events to see more of my designs.
Tiffany did put down her bouquet for a few minutes to entertain her guests. Can you tell that she used to be a cheerleader?
This is such a sweet shot of the newlyweds posing at the bottom of the stairs to the reception area.
It was almost time to depart in their Rolls Royce getaway car, but Aaron couldn't resist dipping his new bride one more time.
Notice the popcorn? The groom loves it, so we had a popcorn favors table for guests to enjoy it too.
Congratulations! Photo

Congratulations Tiffany and Aaron

I got to do some great weddings in 2012. One of which was Tiffany and Aaron's wedding celebration.
The outdoor ceremony and reception took place at Cator Woolford Gardens on a sunny October day.
I love it when I get to assist my couples with planning and floral design.
Instead of signing a traditional guest book or a framed photo, guest got to sign a quilt made for the couple.
Here are the newlyweds being announced as husband and wife at the start of their wedding reception. Stay tuned for part 2 and more great pictures!
